Saying Thank You at the Harvest Festival

16 October 2023

On Monday October 9, the Lower School visited the Chapel for their annual harvest service, bringing with them donations of food and household goods which were placed around the altar.

In his address, Rev Child, the School Chaplain, asked the pupils to think about what is needed for a plant to grow well – such as light, water and good soil. He made a comparison with people, who also need providing with the right things – such as food and everyday necessities. The pupils’ donations will go to the Norwich Food Bank and will help people who need a little help with food and provisions. As Rev Child pointed out, Harvest is a time that is not only about celebrating the good things we have but also about sharing those good things with other people.

Accompanied by music and various readings from pupils, the spirit of harvest filled the chapel.
