Lower School Represented by Four Choirs at Norfolk County Music Festival

23 March 2023

For the first time, Little Voices performed at the Norfolk County Music Festival and kicked off a week of excellent singing by four  different Lower School Choirs.

They sang A Song of my own and the exciting Roller Ghoster.  The judges commented that they were certainly not Little Voices, but filled St Andrew's Hall with beautiful, blended sound and passionate singing.  Well done Little Voices!

Also performing this week were the Infant Choir with children in Lower and Upper One.  They gave an emotional performance of Sometimes I Wonder featuring a cello accompaniment and vocal solo by members of Upper One.  This was followed by a sparkling rendition of I'd do anything from the musical Oliver!  Slick actions, fun choreography and a truly cheeky version delighted the audience.

Last to perform at the Festival were both School and Chamber Choirs.  The School Choir, with children from U2-U3, gave a joyful rendition of the song Umbrella and a captivating performance of Simple Gifts.  Both songs were highly praised for their singing quality and polish.

Finally, Chamber Choir stepped up to wow St Andrew's Hall with the song Why We Sing, with sonorous harmonies blended to produce a wonderful sound.  They completed their programme with the show stopping and highly technical Joshua Fought The Battle of Jerico.  This involved complicated syncopated parts and tight choreography full of expression and excitement!  A true crowd pleaser!

Congratulations to all 4 choirs for some outstanding performances.
