This week, Upper 1 have been learning some interesting facts about castles.
They welcomed two very special visitors - a knight and a maid - who taught them about how castles were built and what some of the jobs were that people used to do inside a castle. They also saw what tools were used back then and they even learnt where the toilets were!
Pupils then learnt about the clothes that people wore inside the castle and had a go at weaving, as well as the opportunity to dress up - some of them as knights with their own spears and some of them dressed up as part of the royal family who would have lived inside the castle! They had a great time looking at the artefacts and weapons and trying on the medieval helmets. They also practised marching in a straight line and at the end they got to charge at the Black Knight!
It was an amazing day!
