On Wednesday 26th April, Lower One were transported back in time in an exciting visit to Strangers’ Hall. Set in the year 1666, a Strangers’ Hall servant has just returned to Norwich from London. Having experienced first-hand the events of the Great Fire of London, they were eager to make sure that a similar thing didn’t happen here!

A member of the Strangers’ Hall household led an object-handling session investigating everyday objects which might pose a fire hazard, while the returned servant used drama to reveal their experiences in London during the fire. In addition, children got to explore the upstairs rooms of Strangers’ Hall, looking for fire hazards and experiencing what a room looks like when lit only by candlelight.
