Lower One Get Up Close to Some Fantastic Mini Beasts!

07 February 2023

On Thursday 2 February, Lower One went to BUGZ UK to support their learning about minibeasts.

They were very excited to meet some of nature’s strangest and most beautiful micro monsters. The park had hundreds of rare and unusual invertebrates which the children were fascinated to learn about. Lower One also took part in a bug handling workshop where they were able to hold and touch a variety of minibeasts including scorpions and stick insects.

Cleo (L1) wrote the following recount of her day:

"We went to Bugz UK! We saw lots of minibeasts. My favourite was the millipede. The man told me a fact. It was that the queen ant could live for 50 years. We held a gigantic snail. It was nice and smooth. We saw a tarantula. I stroked a millipede and its legs were very tickly. Its body was very soft. We went into lots of different rooms. In one or two rooms we turned on lots of UV lights so we could find the scorpions. I had a great day!"

Thank you BUGZ UK!
