Hey There!

Dr Steve Treavett has been a dedicated member of the Norwich School teaching staff for over 13 years, bringing a wealth of academic and leadership experience to the classroom. Before joining Norwich, he served as Head of Science at one of the county’s largest state schools, where he led a large team and oversaw curriculum development across multiple disciplines.

Dr Treavett holds a PhD in Computer Graphics and an MSc in Computer Science, complementing his BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and Management Science. His undergraduate studies included a year of chemistry research at the University of Bordeaux, deepening both his academic knowledge and international perspective.

At Norwich School, he is a committed and enthusiastic chemistry teacher, passionate about fostering scientific curiosity and analytical thinking. Beyond the lab, Dr Treavett has immersed himself in the wider school community, teaching fencing, tennis, and cross-country running. He has also led popular co-curricular clubs including Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer, and oversaw the school’s Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award programme for many years. He has also taught Physics, Biology and IT and is looking forward to teaching a course on games and games theory in the next academic year.
