George Robbins

Mr George Robbins has worked at Norwich School since 2021, and has been Head of the Independent Project since 2024. He first developed his passion for teaching through a year placement abroad at Melbourne Grammar School, before studying History (BA) at UEA and completing his PGCE soon afterwards. His particular interests are in modern Japanese history and the Cold War era. His highlight of the academic year is when it comes to teaching his A-Level students about the Watergate scandal. Mr Robbins runs the Lollards Society, the school’s inters History club, which spends its time watching historical movies, playing historical games and reading historical fiction. Outside of History, he has set up Toastmasters Club, a youth leadership society which aims to empower young people in public speaking and organisation. A keen sportsman, he has coached Norwich School hockey teams and is reminded of his age when he partakes in the ON hockey match each December.
