Trixie Ellerby (L6) has been placed 1st in the prestigious' 'Norfolk Art & Design competition', hosted by Norwich University of the Arts. The competition featured over 200 incredible entries submitted from 26 schools around the county. Trixie's textile wall hanging titled 'Seasick' is a mixed media piece compiled of tufted wool and intricate hand woven coral forms which makes comment on the tragic bleaching of our coral reefs. Professor Simon Ofield-Kerr , Vice chancellor of Norwich University of the Arts celebrated it for its contemporary and on-trend use of materials and its theme of sustainability. He stated that he felt that it could not be improved and would not be out of place in an undergraduate show! Trixie has also been shortlisted for another prestigious competition this evening, the Young Norwich Creative Awards. Congratulations Trixie! <
