Andrew Murray
Mr Andrew Murray has taught English, History and Art History at Norwich School since 2011. He was Head of English at Norwich School from September 2012 to June 2019. After working for the Ministry of Defence, he studied English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 1989. Andrew has led English Departments at five independent schools. He has examined English Literature at A Level for more than 30 years and has also marked the ELAT (the English Literature Admissions Test for Oxford and Cambridge universities).
He now assists with undergraduate admissions at the University of Oxford. Andrew writes for The Use of English, the journal of The English Association, a professional body dedicated to producing resources intended to be helpful to English teachers in secondary and further education. His contributions to drama, sport, overseas trips, academic societies and Norwich School’s scholarship programme demonstrate his commitment to co-curricular education and inter-disciplinary learning.
