Norwich School has an active Sailing Club that trains and competes to a high level throughout the year. Using facilities at the Norfolk Broads Yacht Club and the Whitlingham Centre, juniors are coached on Mondays and Wednesdays by Mr Bedford-Payne and a local RYA Coach, whilst seniors are coached by Mr Large and Mr Gent on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The School's involvement in both national and international competition has grown a great deal in recent years. Those selected for the school teams will compete in a wide range of school and university-level team racing events: the Fastnet International Schools Regatta; the UK Team Racing Championships; and the British Schools Team Racing circuit where the School has enjoyed particular success.

Alongside the competitive side of Norwich School sailing, pupils have the opportunity to enjoy a range of more relaxed sailing experiences. The school regularly attends the Itchenor Schools Week and in 2012 sent eight pupils to Schull in Ireland for a week of friendly racing against our Irish neighbours. In 2014 pupils will have the chance to cross the North Sea on board the traditional 100ft fishing smack, Excelsior.
