Netball News From A Fantastic Term

25 March 2024

The Netball Club was straight back into action following the half-term break, attending the County Cup with the U12As and dominating the day from the pool games, all the way to the final, winning 15-5 v Gresham’s. Buoyed by their new title as County Champions, they finished their season unbeaten with 17 wins out of 17.

Not to be outdone by the U12s, the U13s also put out a strong performance in the County Cup, winning all games comfortably in the run up to the final, but sadly losing out to Langley prep. They too have had a very impressive season losing just one fixture by 2 goals.

Our intermediate netballers have worked hard this term, with participation in block fixtures versus Framlingham College, New Hall, Bedford Modern, Stephen Perse and Ipswich. The U14As narrowly pipped our 15As to win an U15 tournament at the UEA.

Our Junior and Intermediate netballers attended Netball Celebration events in the penultimate week of term. It was an opportunity to recognise their commitment and hard work to date. Congratulations to all of the award winners.

After a disappointing result at the end of the last half-term, the 1st VII have gone from strength to strength this half-term, winning 9 out of 9 fixtures. The team have learnt to trust their skill and connections and absorb the pressure in key moments. A stunning performance on the final weekend of term saw them win the St Joseph’s College National Netball Festival, with our own Keira Hardiman being named Player of the Tournament.
