Hockey Highlights - The Boys Teams From This Lent Term

25 March 2024

Boys hockey had a busy second half term with block fixtures playing against local rivals to playing regionals and national tournaments.

In Juniors and Inters, highlights included beating good hockey schools such as Gresham’s, Ipswich School and Framlingham College. During half-term break, Inters and Junior boys went to Hurstpierpoint College for two days hockey trip. All 43 boys had a great time, while also playing brilliant hockey. For some pupils this was their first hockey trip away from Norwich in their Norwich School journey.

In seniors, all four teams competed well and went from strength to strength this half term. The 4thXI fought hard but on few occasions the team came up short with some narrow loses. The 3rd XI won all their three matches. Especially, in the last game the team played best hockey they’ve played all term, so they’ve definitely got better as the season has gone on!

The 2nd XI had a great run in their U18 Tier 3 tournament, winning three matches but unfortunately missed out on the final spot by one point. But the team made sure to finish their term on high note by winning their last two matches of the term.

The 1st XI boys ended the term in style, by coming 3rd in the Independent School Plate Competition. The boys faced tough competition but the team fought hard, played exceptional hockey and secured wins against Felsted School, Forrest School, Merchant Taylor’s School, Millfield School and The King’s School Chester.

Well done to all pupils involved this hockey term.
