“Achieving excellence alongside maximum participation”
The standard of cricket at Norwich School is extremely high. This is due to the outstanding indoor and outdoor facilities, excellent coaching staff (boasting three level 3 coaches), and strong links with Northamptonshire and Norfolk County Cricket Clubs.
The comprehensive cricket programme operates throughout the Lower School and Senior School. It is designed to cater for every player according to their ability and experience. As part of the performance programme, the elite players receive regular 1 to 1 and small group coaching throughout the winter utilising our state of the art cricket gallery complete with bowling machines and video analysis software. Equally the school caters for the pupils not in the team sets by providing skill sessions from our qualified cricket staff and internal competitions which are eagerly-contested and very popular.
Several of our pupils are involved with Northamptonshire CCC Academy and many of our A-team age group players represent Norfolk or their District. There are 19 teams that play regular fixtures against other schools and we enter the established local and national cup competitions each year with consistent success. We also look to broaden the pupils’ horizons by touring overseas (U17 & U13 tours to Cape Town, South Africa in 2011 and 2012 respectively). For more details on the performance programme please contact Head of Cricket, Jed Cawkwell email@example.com
Sussex Cricket Academy at Norwich School
In June 2017 the school launched an Academy partnership with Sussex County Cricket Club. The Academy consists of a two tier system for boys and girls aged between 10 and 16 from both Norwich School, and other schools in East Anglia. The aim of the partnership is to provide a route for talented cricketers in the East Anglia area to be involved in an elite development programme, which will in turn lead on to them becoming first-class cricketers or international women’s cricketers. They will benefit from top level coaching and support at the impressive facilities at Norwich School.
