Orienteering is a sport that pushes the mind and body to its limits. Do you think you can you read a map while running over rough terrain for over 30 minutes? If so, then orienteering is the sport for you. At Norwich School, orienteering is currently offered as a senior games option in the Michaelmas term. At weekends we take a minibus to local and national competitions, and all pupils are welcome to join us, even if it’s not your games option. We compete at the monthly Norfolk league events, as well as regional junior competitions and the British Schools champs. In 2010, our year 11 team got silver medals at the British Schools, and we currently have 3 East Anglian champions (Steven Denby M12, Sam Garforth M20, Dr. Richardson M35). We have strong links with Norfolk Orienteering Club, and our pupils regularly represent the county. If you would like to try orienteering, contact Dr Richardson.
