Helen has been working in the catering team at Norwich School for 20 years, making up to 300 sandwiches a day for our school pack lunches and serving the special diets/ other lunches at the counter, she reminisces on how quickly the time has gone.  

The biggest change over twenty years for Helen was the food. When she started it was very basic school lunches however, over the years she has watched it change and get better and better, now she says, ‘the food is excellent.’ Although our lunches have improved over the years, Helen’s favourite meal to serve is still a lovely simple Lasagna, with her favourite school meal to eat being the Chili Brisket.  

The Best thing about working at Norwich School for Helen is that the people, staff, and students she has encountered over 20 years ‘are just all so friendly and welcoming.’ Helen’s favourite memory and time of the year at Norwich School are Christmas lunches, she loves ‘listening to all the children sing 12 days of Christmas’ and getting to wear Christmas party hats! Below are some pictures from several Christmas lunches that Helen has enjoyed!
