Onward Routes for our Upper Sixth

Here at Norwich School we are delighted to celebrate the talented diversity of our Upper Sixth cohort as UCAS (universities and colleges admissions service) offers begin to roll in.

It is our role as a school to support our pupils with their onward route beyond life in the Close, and in total, 177 Norwich School applications have been sent this academic year.

As is the norm at this point in the year, many universities are still making decisions on which applicants to offer places to, with courses such as medicine and dentistry tending to arrive later in the cycle. A number of pupils have also taken the non-university route and applied directly for positions of employment, apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships, but offers for these tend to come out later in the cycle. However, congratulations to Zak Jones who already has an offer of an accountancy training position from Larking Gowen and M and A Partners and to Emma Hurrell who has a firm offer of a degree apprenticeship to start at the end of August 2024. She will be employed by T. W. Gaze, based in their Wymondham office, whilst they fund her through her degree in 'Rural Enterprise and Land Management' at Harper Adams University.

Whilst we eagerly await more exciting updates from our Upper 6 cohort, here are some highlights so far:

Within that role he will be running the ‘Apply Plus’ programme which supports pupils applying for academic courses that require admissions tests and/or interviews on top of the usual UCAS application requirements.

Mrs Warren, Head of UCAS, has expressed thanks to all staff involved in supporting Upper Sixth pupils and ONs through this process, in particular Upper Sixth tutors, Heads of Department, Mrs Grant, Mr Croston, Mr Peters and Mrs Meader.
