Imie James 'Sending a Smile'

We are always super excited to hear about when our pupils create an impact within their community. Here’s how Imie James is ‘sending a smile’ this Christmas:

Last Christmas I sent a book fold cat to an elderly friend to hopefully make her smile. I was really happy to hear that she liked it. As a result of this, the lady, who owns a local flower shop said that as so many people had asked about it, would I like to make some to put in her shop? I was over the moon with her kind offer. Yesterday I delivered some 'Send a Smile' Christmas cats, trees, hedgehogs, and angels to her shop.

As I want to continue to hopefully make people in my local community smile especially in the difficult times many find themselves and to make a positive contribution to other people’s lives, I am going to donate all of my profits from the shop to the Coronary Care Department at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. Heart health is an area which is very important to me, and I hope the money can help in some way with the vital work they do in their department.

I really am excited and very grateful for this opportunity especially as it all came about from sending a smile to an elderly friend. Today the lady kindly called me to let me know the first purchase had been made!

If you would like to buy some of Imie’s creations she will be selling them next Friday 25th November during break time, as part of the Brooke House charity Danceathon.
