Lower School news

Reception class have been exchanging letters with the residents of the Great Hospital and on Tuesday 14 May had the opportunity to meet their pen pals!

A fabulous musical extravaganza took place in the Lower School Hall as our talented Lower 1 and Upper 1 children took centre stage in the Informal Concert that left everyone beaming from ear to ear.

The audience at the Informal Concert featuring children from Lower 2 were treated to a wonderful evening of music making and an amazing variety of music that spanned genres and generations. 

Upper One welcomed Andy the Astronomer with great enthusiasm as he brought his impressive Space Dome to the school hall as we have been learning all about Space in this Trinity Term in the classroom.

The pupils from Lower 3 delighted the audience with their individual performances in the Informal Concert last night in the School Hall. 

Upper Two spent Tuesday 30 April learning all about Judaism.

Lower 1's visit to BeWILDerwood was an immersive experience that bridged the gap between imagination and education.

The Trinity Term Informal Concerts started with performance from pupils in Upper 3 showcasing their exceptional talents, and thrilling the well-attended concert audience in the Lower School Hall. 

On Wednesday 24 April, Lower School pupils experienced the usefulness of Music Making, namely Beatboxing, to retain factual information.

On Monday 22 April we were delighted to welcome author and illustrator Ivan Bates to Norwich Lower School for a captivating event based around his latest book, Keep Up Duck! Reception and Lower One pupils were treated to an immersive experience filled with creativity and storytelling.

This morning, we held the first Year 3 Primary Maths Challenge at Norwich School. It was a competition created in collaboration with five Norfolk Primary schools; Coltishall Primary School, Priory Primary School, Sprowston Junior School, White Woman Lane Junior School and Norwich School.

Dancer and actress Joanne Clifton recently graced the cast of Shrek Jr. with an unforgettable workshop experience.

In a burst of energy and creativity, children from across the Lower School came together for a dynamic dance performance, dazzling family and friends with their exuberant moves. The theme of the day was colour, and the stage was alive with a kaleidoscope of hues as dancers brought their interpretations to life.

The spotlight shone brightly on the talented pupils of Upper 3 as they took to the stage in a triumphant production of 'Shrek Jr.' at The Garage Theatre Norwich. Over the course of three sold-out shows, audiences were treated to an unforgettable journey through the whimsical world of Shrek and his beloved fairy tale companions.

A busy term of charity and partnership activities including for Comic Relief.

Norwich Lower School were delighted once again to be part of the Norfolk County Music Festival. Three choirs from the Lower School performed at The Kings Centre in Norwich.

Our Lower 2 pupils travel from the Cathedral Close to the big city! Their London adventure started the minute they were off the train, navigating the London Underground's steep escalators, busy platforms and complicated maps, en route to the British Museum via their youth hostel.

Our 'Dance for Performance Group' has secured their place in the National Finals of the Great Big Dance Off, set to take place at Oxford New Theatre in June.

World Book Week brought a wave of excitement to the Lower School as pupils immersed themselves in a week-long celebration of reading and storytelling.

The Lent Term Informal concerts concluded last night with pupils from Lower 1, Upper 1 and Lower 2 who transported the audience into a world of musical wonder.
