Girls Cricket

Cricket is now our main sport for girls in the Trinity Term. Pupils can also access an extensive winter training programme which runs in the Michaelmas and Lent terms and is based in our excellent indoor cricket gallery.

We are flexible in our approach to matches with the aim of instilling a love of cricket to all girls. Formats for different teams are often adapted according to the level of ability, allowing all to develop the skills required in games that are fun and physically testing.

One of the highlights of the season is our annual House Cricket Festival where all eight of our houses compete in an innovative six-a-side format across all sections of the school.

 

Recent Successes:

• Lady Taverners County Indoor Winners U13 (2015, 2017 & 2018), U15 (2018)
• Lady Taverners Regional Indoor Finalists U13 (2015)
• National Cup Last 16 U15 (2018).

 

Mr Callum Taylor , Head of Cricket
Mr Taylor joined the school in 2019 and became Head of Cricket in 2020. He is currently playing for Swardeston CC and previously played professionally for Essex CCC.
