Worshipful Company of Dyers brings Norwich School and Boutcher School together

19 June 2018

Two very able choirs from Norwich School and Boutcher School in London came together on Monday 18th June at the Norwich Lower School for a joint concert, climaxing with joint renditions of Toto’s Africa and a song by Take That.

The concert was brought about through the friendship that has grown up between our two schools born from the fact that both are extremely generously supported by the Worshipful Company of Dyers. Norwich School’s connections with the Dyers stems back to just after World War Two and there are a number of buildings, scholarships and prizes that proudly bear their name.

Boutcher School had a tour round Norwich Cathedral, a lunch in the cloisters, some intensive practice sessions and some play time in the warm Norwich sunshine. The children had a great day.

We were delighted to host Mr Nigel Back, Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Dyers as guest of honour. He is a resident of Norfolk, a prominent businessman and Governor of Norwich School.

We hope this event combining the talent of both schools will be repeated in the future, as it is clear that each school can learn so much from the other.
