Winners of the Biology Photography and Drawing Competitions Announced

06 July 2021

Well done to Imogen James (M5) and Ria Gheyi (L6), who have won the Biology photography and specimen drawing competitions.

The Biology Department have been running two competitions from the Royal Society of Biology. The first, a photography competition, had a theme of 'Interconnected'. Imogen James won this with her photograph of a bee taking nectar from a buddleia flower.

There was also The Nancy Rothwell Award, a specimen drawing competition challenging pupils to draw, paint, sketch or digitally create artwork capturing plant or animal anatomy. Ria Gheyi won this competition with her pencil drawing of the European Goldfinch.

Both pupils now have the opportunity to enter their work for judging in the final Royal Society of Biology competitions.

Well done Imogen and Ria!
