U6 Milton Study Day Trip

09 May 2019

Eighteen Upper Sixth English Literature pupils visited Milton's Cottage in Chalfont St. Giles in Buckinghamshire on Friday 3rd May, with Dr Farr and Mr Murray. This trip has become something of an annual pilgrimage for Norwich School Sixth Form pupils, marking the end of the two-year A-Level course.

As usual, pupils worked in Milton's garden - the model for the Garden of Eden in Paradise Lost - and received a tour of the property from the excellent staff at the cottage who were fantastically well-informed about Milton's work and life.

Pupils left Buckinghamshire with an enhanced understanding of the complex text and the way in which it intersected with Milton's life as a political dissident.
