U16 sailing team win the prestigious ET Team Racing Championships

16 October 2017

This weekend the Under 16 sailing team travelled down to Farmoor reservoir to compete in the Junior section of the prestigious Eric Twiname/ Royal Yachting Association Team Racing Championships.

The 4 pupils, Will Pank (M5P) & Seb Gotto (L5P) and Josh Means (L5V) & Grace Pank (U4P), sailed superbly, winning 19 races out of 20 in a phenomenal display of boat handling and tactics.

Having lost their first race of the event to Falcons on Sunday morning during their Gold A League match the final was a very tense affair. The team managed to outsmart their rivals forcing a late penalty for Falcons which was enough to secure Junior Victory for Norwich School for the first time ever.

To cap a fantastic weekend for Norwich School sailing the ON team also secured by far their best result at the Arrow Trophy, winning the Sherbourne Shaker for 2nd place. More details available here
