The rugby sevens season concluded with two trips to Rosslyn Park

27 March 2018

The Rugby sevens season concluded with two trips to Rosslyn Park National School 7s.

The U13s were first to play. The squad consisting of Pieter De Lange (c), George Jackson, Jack Minns, Jared Ikazoboh, Will Farrow, Max Amis, Freddie Mitchell, George Taylor, Max Blaxell, Kit Scott, Tobias Spencer and Reuben Hollis. The team played in five games against Ibstock Place, Ryde, St Anselm’s College, RGS High Wycombe and Whitchurch coming out on top in three and scoring fifteen tries in the process. The whole squad contributed to a highly committed performance throughout the tournament and this coupled with their performance at the Berkhamsted 7s a week earlier will be rememberred as a very successful season for this age group.

The 1st VII played at Rosslyn Park on Wednesday securing victories over Wellington Grammar and Queen Ethelburga’s in Group R. A tough loss to St Peter’s York and a disappointing performance in close defeat to the Perse school were our two other games, meaning the boys finished third in the pool. Despite not progressing to the second day all of the 2018 squad will be available for selection in 2019 and they will be far stronger for this years experience.

While at Rosslyn Park there was time for a visit to our medical partner Return2Play who proved the medical services throughout the whole tournament. Our U13s met current England player Elliot Daly on Monday and the 1st VII picked up a singed ball by the Wasps winger later in the week.
