Success at East Anglian League Cross Country

22 January 2019

On Saturday 19th January, Norwich School, Gresham's, Ipswich School and Royal Hospital School came together for the first East Anglian League cross country fixture of the year. The fixture took place at Mousehold Heath, Norwich, where twenty-six Norwich School runners competed in fine, crisp conditions.

Norwich School had a winner in all three of the boys races with Daniel Conway winning the junior race, James Price the intermediate race and Angus Toms coming first in the senior race.

In the girls race Madison Kelly came second despite racing against girls considerably older than herself. Madison, together with Imogen Shaw, Kitty Taylor and Emily Cahir secured first place in the girls team competition.

The intermediate boys team were also victorious with Patrick Thomas, William Blythe-Bartram and Freddie Power all finishing strongly to back up James' win.

The senior boys made it a clean sweep of team wins thanks to Tom Blythe-Bartram coming third, Walter Buttery fourth and James Hollinger fifth.

Well done to all those who ran and thank you to those Sixth formers who helped out by marshalling.
