The 2021 Sports Day was spread over two days and three separate events.

In a first for Norwich School, the Fourth Form Sports Day was held away from the traditional surrounds of the Lower Close. The UEA’s Sportspark proved an excellent setting for the event which of course was the first Norwich School Sports Day for both the Lower and Upper 4 year groups. There was some excellent individual performances as well as high levels of participation across all eight houses, boosted by additional; indoor events such as the speed bounce, welly toss and target throw.

Thursday saw the Lower Close return to its rightful place as the sporting hub of the school with both the Inters and Seniors events held back to back across the day. Thankfully the weather was perfect for high quality competition, right down to the final six races of the day which did take place in torrential rain. There were excellent performances and four new school records, two on the track and two in the field.

Thanks of course must go to Mr Daalhuizen who expertly organised all three events, the sports department for running each days competitions, Dr Richardson and Mr Hudson as race starters, common room staff who supported individual events, the Housemasters for pulling their teams together, and of course the estates, catering and grounds teams for all their support throughout the day and the build-up.

Victor & Victrix Ludorum prizes were awarded to pupils in each age range who achieved excellent performances across a range of events in the day.
