Seven Norwich School pupils run for Norfolk

29 January 2018

Last Tuesday 23rd January, twenty runners took to Sloughbottom Park to compete against the best young athletes in Norfolk for the Norfolk Schools Cross Country Championships.

The course consisted of flat and fast laps of the park and featured over 400 runners who had all needed to have qualified previously to compete. Seven of our athletes ran well enough to earn the honour of representing Norfolk.

In the U13 girls race, Madison Kelly led from the start to claim herself the Norfolk Champion. In the U13 boys category three athletes finished in the top ten with Daniel Conway 9th, Max Blaxell 7th and Arthur Turner 4th.

Emily Cahir qualified in the U17 Girls, while James Price came 5th in the U17 boys.

In the U19 boys, George Clements had a strong run and came 4th.

All pupils named above earned a place in the county team for the Anglian Schools Championship taking place this weekend.

Congratulations to all.
