Pupils perform at The Old Granary Studio

04 May 2019

The Music Department started the summer term with a concert at The Old Granary Studio, a beautiful venue out in the countryside beyond Beccles that runs a regular professional concert series.

On Sunday 28th April, a group of music scholars travelled out to perform solos and ensemble pieces to an audience of their parents and Friends of The Old Granary. The programme included pieces by George Gershwin, David Bowie’s Life on Mars arranged for a saxophone group and My Evaline sung by a barbershop quartet from the School’s Upper Sixth. The standard of musicianship was very high and enjoyed by all.

Look out for further Making Musicians concerts this term in the Cathedral and at No. 1 The Close.  There will also be an instrumental concert on the evening of Friday 28th June in the Noverre Ballroom at the Assembly House in Norwich.
