Pupils at Norwich School are celebrating strong A level results today. More than ¼ of the year has achieved 3As or better, securing places at competitive courses in leading universities across the country.

The school continues to demonstrate its creative excellence: of the pupils who studied creative subjects at A level (Fine Art, 2D Graphic Design, 2D Photography, 3D Design, Theatre Studies and Music), 44 pupils, over 90% of creative candidates, achieved A or better, with 28 pupils getting A*. Pupils have been helped to thrive through recent on-site enhancement of the school’s arts facilities in Cathedral Close, including: the renovation of the Carter Art & Design Centre; the opening of The Crypt Gallery; the introduction of the Blake Studio and the establishment of a new Music School at Almary Green.

Head Master Steffan Griffiths commented, “This cohort has absorbed new specifications and linear courses; for nearly 60% of grades to be at A or better in such circumstances is impressive indeed, particularly as these pupils have continued to be heavily involved in our extensive co-curricular programme and to make a significant contribution to the wider community. They have an excitingly diverse array of routes ahead of them and we offer congratulations on the launch-pad their all-round school performance has helped to create”.

There have been some outstanding individual achievements this year with two candidates securing four A* grades, 11 pupils receiving at least 3 A*s and 48 pupils achieving at least 3 As.

Craig Hooper, Head of Sixth Form, said, “The hard work of our pupils has been rewarded, with many of them getting in to their first or second choice destinations. We are delighted with these results, which wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the families of our leavers and staff at the school.”

Congratulations to all of our Upper Sixth leavers on their results.
