Pupil Eloise Hipper takes third place in the ARTiculation national public speaking competition

08 February 2018

Norwich School pupil Eloise Hipper, who is in Lower 6, placed 3rd in the ARTiculation national public speaking competition at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts on Tuesday 6 February 2018.

ARTiculation is the national public speaking competition which encourages young people to look, think and speak about art. 9 students from a variety of schools in Norwich and between the ages of 16 and 19, took place in the regional finals. All participants gave a 10 minute presentation about a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice in front of an audience and an adjudicator. Eloise claimed third place with a controversial and exciting presentation on Marcus Harvey’s painting ‘Myra’.

There are over 1,000 students who enter the ARTiculation prize in England every year. An extensive programme of support has been developed with gallery partners to ensure a wide range of schools and young people can take part in the ARTiculation activities. Lady Sorrell OBE was the adjudicator for the ARTiculation 2018 East of England Regional Final. She was asked to assess each presentation as a whole, looking for content, structure, delivery and the speaker's original approach and unique potential.

Congratulations to Eloise on her amazing achievement.
