Norwich School Sixth Form Leavers Destinations 2019

10 September 2019

Our Upper 6th leavers secured places at top universities and courses following a fantastic set of A Level results this year.

Pupils who recently finished their A Level studies at Norwich School are preparing for the next stage of their careers after securing places at top universities. Overall, 78% of pupils were accepted into their first-choice universities, and a further 11% will go to their second choice university.

Our pupils have had particular success in applying for Medicine and Dentistry courses, with all 14 pupils accepted on their chosen courses. These are very pleasing results and the incredible performance of many of our Medical applicants reflects the calibre of the candidates. 81% of Norwich School leavers were placed at Top 30 UK Universities, with 67% in total going to Russell Group Universities. Pupil A Level results this year were particularly impressive this year, with 86% achieving A*-B grades in the new reformed, linear A Levels.

The broad range of courses chosen by pupils reflects the diversity of our Sixth Form offer for pupils, with arts and humanities subjects remaining popular choices alongside maths and the sciences. Norwich School places an emphasis on equipping pupils with the skills that they need for whichever direction they choose to take. Speaking after A Level results day, the Head Master comments: "Norwich School tries hard to tailor opportunities and customise support for each pupil and family to help them on their particular journey. It is therefore wonderful to see our leavers now being rewarded with results which open up their preferred ongoing destination. I am thrilled for them and their hard-working teachers, offering heartfelt congratulations to all.”

Prospective Sixth Form pupils are invited to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 10th October from 4.30pm-6.30pm. More information can be found here.
