Norwich School Runners Compete in Norwich Half Marathon

18 June 2021

On Sunday 13th June, several runners from our Norwich School community took part in the annual City of Norwich Half Marathon.

This event had been postponed from 2020 twice and the 800+ finishers now had to run the 13.1 miles on what was the hottest day of the year so far. Nonetheless, all of our Norwich School runners successfully finished the race and received a medal.

Runners from across the Norwich School community took part, including pupils, teachers and parents.

A huge well done to pupils Kitty Taylor and Jonnie Elkins (both U6) who competed and finished the race.

Congratulations also go to parents: Mr Wimmer, Mr Rivett, Mr Ross and Mr Hill and staff runners Mr Peters, Mr Todd, Mr Hudson and Mrs Hill.

Thanks must also go to staff member Sally Morgan and parents Mrs Hayward and Mrs Price for their amazing support on the route, assisting with water stations and medals.

For keen Norwich School runners, there is also the opportunity to run the Norwich School Mile on Friday 25th June. This race takes place at 4.30pm on the Lower Close track (meet at 4.15pm).  The Mile is run as one single race, boys and girls of all ages together, with prizes for the first boy and girl in each age group.
