Norwich School pupils visit artist Nathan Coley's installation

04 June 2018

On the 21st May Norwich School pupils Art and Design pupils visited Nathan Coley's instalment titled Palace 2015, which is being shown at St Laurence’s church on St Benedict’s Street, Norwich. Pupils also took part in a workshop that worked with the themes of Nathan Coley's work. Nathan Coley is a Glasgow based artist, who's work examines the nature of belief in our society through a range of media.

Norwich School pupil and art scholar William Wistow (L6R) explained that 'After a discussion about the piece of work by Nathan Coley, we were given the brief that with a secret word and simple materials we should produce a art piece that would embody or represent the secret word. We then all attempt to guess each others word at the end from discussions on the pieces. As a workshop, it proved genuinely invaluable, for it gave us the opportunity to work conceptually on such abstract concepts as Language, while giving us insight into the thought process of artists such as Nathan Coley.'
