12 September 2018

Norwich School are delighted to announce that pupil, Brooke Elley, has been selected as a finalist in the BBC Young Chorister of the Year competition.

Brooke is part of the final 8 competitors, who have been selected to sing in front of a panel of expert judges at the final on Saturday 20th October at MediaCityUK, Salford.

The winners, a boy and a girl, will receive a trophy and may be offered opportunities to appear on BBC Radio and Television programmes throughout the year, sharing their gift with the nation and working with top musicians, including the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

Posy Walton, Head of Vocal Studies at Norwich School, said "This is a really prestigious competition and I am delighted that Brooke has got through as one of the final four girls."

Richard Allain, Director of Music at Norwich School, said "It is rare to find a pupil who excels in such a broad range of musical interests. Brooke is a violinist, saxophonist and pianist, a composer, a singer-songrwriter and, perhaps above all, a first-rate singer and chorister. We wish her every success for BBC Radio 2 Chorister of the Year 2018."
