Norwich School pupil, Billy White, selected as National Centre for Writing's Young Arts Professional

06 September 2018

Norwich School pupil Billy White (L6N) has been selected as one of the National Centre for Writing’s Young Arts Professionals for 2018-19.

The scheme is called ‘Engage’ and is a collaborative project between four UNESCO cities of literature around Europe – Barcelona (Spain), Krakow (Poland), Växjö (Sweden) and Norwich (UK). Each city is running its own project focussed on cultural activism and literature.

The  Young Arts Professionals will be given the reins to design and deliver ‘Festival in a Day’ as part of the 2019 Norfolk and Norwich Festival. The festival will explore freedom of speech in the global and digital world – with a focus on cultural activism in the arts.

In April next year Billy will be presenting at a Literary Festival in Krakow as part of the Young Arts Professionals programme.

Billy has previously worked as a Young Arts Ambassador for the NCW and was a participant in the first ever National Saturday Club Writing Programme, which was a collaborative project between NCW and UEA.
