Norwich School listed 14th nationally for university destinations

29 November 2016

The Times School Guide, released at the weekend, revealed that Norwich School is in 14th place in the national ‘Destination of Independent School Leavers’ table. The figures take into account the number of pupils admitted to Oxbridge, Russell Group Universities, Overseas Universities and the Sunday Times top 40 destinations.

Craig Hooper, Head of Sixth Form, is delighted with the result. “Our objective of securing places at 1st or 2nd choice destinations for 90% of Norwich School leavers has been met or exceeded for the past 5 years. It is fantastic that this has been recognised nationally,” he said.

Norwich School pupils receive places at a wide range of Universities, with a focus on supporting pupils in following the path that is right for them.

Head Master Steffan Griffiths commented, “It is pleasing to see that Norwich School is providing pupils with the opportunities to succeed in getting to the universities that they want to, wherever that may be. What is important is that each pupil is encouraged and supported to achieve their individual goals.”

Norwich School is also ranked 86th in the league table of the country’s ‘Top Independent Secondary Schools’, the best position in Norfolk and Suffolk. The rankings make use of this year’s public examination results, with Norwich School achieving the top A level and GCSE results in the region (A level A*/A 62.5% and GCSE A*/A 72.4%).
