Norwich School Launches Creative Writing Project Across Norfolk

12 February 2019

Norwich School is pleased to release our next outreach event, a creative writing project in partnership with Dying Matters.

The project is open to all pupils in year 8, 9 and 10 across the region, who are asked to produce a piece of creative writing of no more than 1000 words. Submissions can be in the form of prose, poetry, lyrics, script or audio.

Pupils are asked to make a response to the Dying Matters recent campaign I Wish We'd Spoken Earlier, which aims to generate positive discussions around death, and to lessen the taboo of talking about dying.

Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and the authors of the best selected pieces will have the opportunity to read or perform their work at the Dying Matters conference in Norwich Forum on 9th May. A compilation of winning entries will be available after the event, and pieces will form part of a public exhibition of creative writing in the Norwich School Crypt Gallery.

Pupils, teachers and schools can find out more about how to enter can click here for the full details.

The submission deadline is 26th April 2019.
