Norwich School Celebrates Community Service at Awards Evening

28 March 2018

Sixth Formers have been taking part in the school's Community Service programme, encouraging engagement with the local community to make a positive difference.

There are now 42 different groups for Sixth Formers to choose from including: La Casita, Community Film Group, The Hamlet Centre and Mandarin Club.

On 19th March the school celebrated the great contributions current U6 Sixth Formers have contributed, for the past two years, by hosting a Community Service Awards Evening. Sixth Formers and organisations involved with the programme were invited for an evening of celebrations and thanks.

Every Sixth Former who was invited to the evening was given a certification of recognition for their contributions to Community Service.

Charlotte Long (U6C) and Jack O'Shea (U6V) won the NNAB Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Community Service. They both worked with Special Olympics Norfolk. Special Olympics is a global organisation that provides year-round sports training and competition to nearly four million children and adults with intellectual disabilities in almost 200 countries.
