Norwich School and UEA American History Conference 2017

04 July 2017

Last week Norwich School and UEA welcomed A Level historians from across Norfolk to the American History Conference.

Held in the redeveloped Blake Studio the day included lectures, primary source workshops and a question and answer session with the speakers at the event. The aim of the event was to provide a university style experience for A Level history pupils, at the same as aiding them in their A level course content understanding and formulation of their coursework essays.

The two lectures at the event were: Leadership from 1860 to 1980, by Dr Nick Grant, UEA School of American Studies and Freedom’s Pragmatists?: US Presidents and the African American Freedom Struggle, 1933-1974, by Brian Ward, Professor in American Studies at Northumbria University.

Thanks must be made to the University of East Anglia for their help setting up the conference, the lecturers and all the delegates who made the day such a positive experience for all.
