Mrs. Hill to run third marathon, raising money for Smile Train

05 September 2017

Norwich School teacher Mrs. Hill will compete in her third marathon during the October half-term, travelling all the way to Chicago, as part of her lifetime ambition to complete courses in six of the world’s biggest cities.

She will be raising money for an international charity called Smile Train, which helps children who suffer from cleft lip and palate - a condition affecting one in every 700 children. In 2015 she raised £1,200 for Cancer Research when completing the New York Marathon, and aims to raise £1,195 this time around.

If she achieves this goal, it will be enough to fund 24 cleft repair surgeries - creating two dozen more smiles for children. As well as providing care for children suffering from cleft lip, the charity also funds surgery for those with cleft palates in developing countries across the world.

She has currently raised 65% of her target with the race just over one month away. For anyone who would like to support her through the last few weeks of training you can find her Just Giving page here.
