Making Musicians Recital by Lower 6 pupil Millie Clark on the Flute

11 November 2020

The second virtual Making Musicians recital took place on Tuesday 10 November in the Norwich School Chapel. Making Musicians is a developmental arts enrichment programme for exceptional musical talent. The programme gives some of the county’s most talented young musicians the opportunity to perform in a professional setting to a live public audience.

Performing at yesterday’s recital on the flute was Lower 6 Pupil Millie Clark. Millie performed Concerto in D, 1st Movement by Mozart; Cello Suite No. 5, iv Sarabande by J.S. Bach; Ballade by Reinecke; Tango Etude No. 3by Piazzolla and Hungarian Fantasy by Doppler.

Millie was accompanied by pianist Brenda Blewett, who was Head of Accompaniment at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, where she was part of the staff accompaniment team for 25 years.

Based at Norwich School, Making Musicians is for singers and instrumentalists both from within the school and the wider community. Musicians participate in an annual series of workshops, lectures, visits, masterclasses, and recitals designed specifically to nurture young performers.

The full recital is now available here and has also been shared with local care home residents for them to enjoy too.
