Lower 6 visit the Jerwood Drawing Prize and Rembrandt

05 December 2017

On Friday afternoon, two lower 6 art classes took a trip to see the Jerwood Drawing Prize at the East Gallery NUA. Pupils also went to see the Rembrandt Exhibition at the Castle Museum.

Visiting these two exhibitions allowed pupils to focus on either a particular quality of Rembrandt’s work or a drawing style, helping to inform the individual paths pupils could take in their new projects.

Pupils were all intrigued by the diversity of techniques and styles which they saw throughout the two exhibitions, a real highlight was being able to explore the depth of detail in Rembrandt’s work.
