23 October 2017

This weekend Laura-Rose Cooke (L6C) travelled to Leverkusen in Germany as part of Team England to compete in the prestigious 42nd Leverkusen Cup.

Team England competed against four teams from Germany and one each from Holland, Italy, South Africa and Slovenia. In the team competition England narrowly missed out on first place, taking silver. However, in the All-Around competition, Laura-Rose Cooke had a fantastic competition to win the All-Around title. She is the first English gymnast to win the competition since it began in 1976.

Laura-Rose's Coach Sara-Jane Inglis from the Norfolk Academy of Gymnastics said “Laura-Rose was excited at this opportunity but also visibly nervous and she did a fantastic job in putting those nerves aside and going calmly through her routines.”
