House Music Festival 2020

25 September 2020

This year’s House Music Festival took place on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd September. Due to current restrictions, House Shout was unable to go ahead this year, however two days of impressive solo classes were still able to happen in the school Chapel.

We welcomed pianist Libby Burgess as the Principal Adjudicator for our 2020 Festival. While primarily a recital artist, Libby is also highly regarded as a chorusmaster, vocal coach, chamber music tutor, writer and masterclass leader.

There was a fantastic standard of performance across both days of the festival, with pupils across the year groups taking part.

The winner of the Bernard Burrell Prize this year for the outstanding performance was Amélie Clark (L6) with her performance of The Great Train Race.

Libby also nominated the following players/singer for highly commended performances over the two-day festival: Toby Hunt (L6, Piano), Ellice Chen (M5, Piano) and Alice-Lily Nnene (U6, Voice).

The overall winners for this year’s festival were Repton House, who were captained by Alice-Lily Nnene and Toby Hunt.
