E23 Radio presents Bandfest

26 September 2017

E23 Radio presents Bandfest is a reincarnation of a popular past school event. The event hopes to give pupils bands the chance to perform in front of an audience, whilst also raising money for charity.

The event will be hosted by the E23 Radio DJs and there will be three student rock bands performing live at the event; The Cobblestones from Upper Five, Factor 50 from Upper Six and AD 11, also from Upper Six. There will also be an appearance from legendary teacher rock band Beard, featuring the likes of Mr. Hooper (who shone on guitar during the Common Room song at the House Music Festival) and Mr. Bateman.

The event promises to be a fantastic night and is open to all. Tickets for students are £2 and tickets for parents are £5, all paid on the door. The event will take place on Thursday 28th September in the Blake Studio, with doors opening at 6.30pm.

The event proceeds will go towards the charity La Casita, one of the charities which sixth form pupils work with as part of their Community Service programme. The charity currently run a day care centre, helping more than seventy young children and adolescents who are living in extremely underprivileged conditions. They are trying to complete the construction of a secondary school, which will house the adolescents and aims to equip the children with the tools to better their lives and the lives of their families, but rely solely on donations.
