Dragons' Den Outreach project with Mile Cross Primary gets off to a Brilliant Start!

22 November 2019

This week saw the beginning of our second annual Dragons' Den project with Mile Cross Primary School's Year 5 children.

Following on from a tremendous event last year, on Wednesday Mile Cross Primary School's Year 5 group joined Norwich School Business Enterprise department for a morning of learning about how to set up a company. The Year 5 classes were tasked with forming a business idea in their teams, which will be pitched to real-life business "Dragons" in a finale event in December.

Each team was mentored by Norwich School Business Enterprise pupils, who are studying the subject in the Sixth Form. Teams spent the morning developing their products, learning about business operations and marketing and finalising their ideas which will then be pitched at the finale event. City College Norwich provided the perfect location, giving over the use of their Business Start-Up Lounge in which pupils could take inspiration from their surroundings.

The finale event will be held at Norwich School on 3rd December, where groups will present their work to real-life "Dragons" from Norwich's business community. The school's relationship with Mile Cross Primary was built through a link with the Norwich Opportunity Area, which aims to raise aspiration amongst the city's identified wards.
