Deveson Music Prize 2022

23 June 2022

The annual Deveson Music Competition took place on Friday 17 June in the Norwich School Chapel. The event saw talented pupils from across the year groups perform a variety of different musical pieces.

The Deveson Music Prizes were endowed in 1984 by the parents of James Deveson (ON). The Music Department was then in its infancy and, at that time, the House Music Festival provided the only opportunity for solo performers to be assessed by an outside adjudicator.

This year's guest adjudicator was Christopher Bowers-Broadbent, an organist and composer. Mr Bowers-Broadbent has been organist of St Pancras Church, the West London Synagogue and Gray's Inn. He has given recitals all over the world as well as composing music for operas and appearing on many CDs.
