Cross-country success at Ipswich

06 March 2017

The cross-country athletes travelled to Ipswich on Saturday for the third round of the East Anglian League.   The course was exceptionally muddy, after recent heavy rain, and on a hilly course all the runners had to battle hard and show a lot of character.

Jago Taylor (L4B) did well to compete in the Junior Boys event, and he finished the course in an encouraging time. The Intermediate Boys convincingly overcome the opposition, with Steven Denby (U5N) winning the race by a distance, James Price (L5C) second against older opposition, Louis Cann (U5V) third, Jack Heaton fourth (U5B), and the rest of the team all performing well.

The Senior Boys faced a stiffer challenge, and, in the end, were narrowly beaten by the RHS team, with Benedict Smith (U6E) coming third, Sam Nicholls (U6N) fourth, Mark Garside (U6V) fifth and Alex Hunt (U6N) eighth.  This sets up an intriguing battle for the fourth and final round of the League, to be held at RHS next Saturday.
