Cox sisters claim National Championships

15 September 2017

The summer holidays wasn’t a time of rest for the Cox sisters, who both came back as National Champions in different sports.

Katie (U6N) was in Warwick playing for the East Region in the National Regional Squash Team Championships. This is a mixed competition with the East Region Team beating 7 teams. Katie was the last player on court, with the team needing a win or two games. With Katie playing a higher nationally ranked opponent she went 0-2 down but didn’t give up, pulling it back to 2-3 thus securing the title for the East Region. Katie also went on to win the U19 Broadland Junior Open and Essex Junior Open titles.

Meanwhile in Birmingham, Lucy (M5N) was performing at the Legacy Cheerleading Nationals with her team East Coast Emeralds Senior Elite. With a flawless performance they triumphed, bringing the National title in the Level 1 Small Division back to Norwich for the first time ever. Lucy was also a runner up in the Broadland Junior Open and was 3rd in the Essex Junior Open.
