Children from 25 schools gather for the Norfolk Mathematics Symposium 2019

19 November 2019

On Tuesday 19th November, pupils from 25 schools across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire gathered at the fourth Norfolk Mathematics Symposium, which took place at Norwich Open. The event, organised by Norwich School, aimed to bring maths outside the classroom and inspire children.

The 2019 event provided the opportunity for school children to hear from influential speakers Hugh Hunt and Matt Parker. Hugh, a Fellow of Trinity College Cambridge, who specialises in Engineering Dynamics and Vibration, lead a session called Boomerangs whilst Matt, a stand-up comedian, mathematician and #1 best-selling maths author lead a talk titled The Greatest Maths Mistakes Ever.
